Re: Right then - lets get this party started!

I use founderguard (here in Australia) and find it to be very good! I have used it ove the last 10 years for a few horses and had a good result each time. Over here, we can buy it at stockfeeders and saddlery stores. If you want to get some without your vet having to get a license, drop me a line mel@melodydesigns.com and I can get some for you and send it over if you want. The last tub I bought in September cost $64.50 AUD. Postage could be as much as $40 for airmail (seamail $22 but takes 6 weeks). SO maybe check out pricing from the vet and then let me know if I can assist, I would be happy to help you.

Re: Right then - lets get this party started!

So sorry not posted.  Was totally and utterly exhausted after a 14 hour day yesterday, with loads of stress and worry......

Charm xrayed and does have rotated pedal bones.  Vet said can be sorted over a couple of months with corrective shoeing.  About the best news I could hope for - as it clearly wasnt going to be GOOD NEWS whatever.  At least she didnt say NO HOPE, which is what I was fearing.

I asked her about Founderguard.  My old vet - the senior parter was there too.  He was very enthusiastic about it and wanted to know who had mentioned it.  Younger vet said she had had 2 other requests for it, in this week alone, so she also was wondering why the interest.

They said it is not licenced anymore

Re: Right then - lets get this party started!

maybe that's why they have to a licence for individual horses/ponies.  I never did know why that was but they have a website which is current so I would think you can still get it as long as you accept you are using off licence.  Did they say whether they would still prescribe it!

Re: Right then - lets get this party started!

They couldnt remember why it had been pulled off the market?  Possibly something to do with chickens?

They are looking into it, as 3 long term clients now requesting it and they always supplied it before.

If its off licence, they wont get it for me, but will be happy for me to use it, if I can get it..........

Re: Right then - lets get this party started!

Love pink - so glad to hear that Charm is at least diagnosed which must be the first step to recovery. Get some of the liver tonic stuff from Global Herbs - I ant tell you what amazing results we have had from it on two occasions. (iyts called something like Restore) you will not regret using it. We all have our fingers crossed for you and your little pony.xx
